Ulloa PTA hosts a variety of events through out the school year to enhance the students’ experience and create a strong sense of community amongst the families. The following is a list of upcoming events for the 2017-2018 school year and what is required of the volunteers who chair them.

Please sign up to volunteer for or chair the events, the children love to see their parents take active part in their school activities.

Community Day – October 14, 2017

Ulloa Community Day is celebrated in early Fall to promote harmony among the families. It is a potluck event where each grade is assigned a type of dish or drinks.

Event Chair Responsibilities: Book Golden Gate park meadow, arrange for toilets, ensure that tables and party supplies such as plates, drinks, cutlery are available, prepare games, assign food courses to various grades. Total time commitment – 4 business days

Halloween Haunted House 

Haunted House Setup – Saturday, October 28, 2017

Haunted House Scare Fest – Tuesday, October 31, 2017

Haunted House Breakdown – Saturday, November 4, 2017

Event Chair Responsibilities: Keep track of volunteers, volunteer assignments for haunted house and parade, getting supplies together for the haunted house. Total time commitment – 5 business days.

Book Exchange 

Bring a book and take a book! A true give and take event where students are encouraged to bring their lightly used books which they have outgrown and take back books that you find interesting!


Our second fundraising event in the spring where the students and teachers of Ulloa participate in a Walk-a-Thon! The all day event is invigorating and the students are gung-ho about raising funds and completing the most laps to win prizes for themselves and the classrooms!

Event Chair Responsibilities: Keep track of volunteers, volunteer assignments, getting supplies together, soliciting donations for prizes. Total time commitment – 4 business days

Teacher Appreciation Luncheon

What better way to show our appreciation towards all our teachers and staff at Ulloa! Parent volunteers prepare a lavish BBQ lunch along with home made food and dessert. Parents also donate gifts and gift cards which are given as a token of our gratitude.

Event Chair Responsibilities: Keep track of food and volunteers, manage the food and BBQ, soliciting donations for gifts. Total time commitment – 2 business days

Fun Day 

An all day event hosted by the Physical Education department and the PTA! There are age appropriate sporting events held through out the day and it is topped off by the Most-Sporty-Teacher contest!

Event Chair Responsibilities: Prepare for the games, assign volunteers, manage games and activities. Total time commitment – 3 business days


Ulloa PTA hosts the Fifth Grade Graduation ceremony where the graduating class is treated to a heartfelt send off and yummy dessert! Our best wishes are with the graduating students as they prepare for the challenges of Middle School.

Event Chair Responsibilities: Gather supplies, order cake, decorate, serve food and drinks, cleanup. Total time commitment – 2 business days
