Childcare
Before and after school activities
are provided at Ulloa Elementary School by Great Adventures Through
Education known as GATE, a private, non profit organization. The
GATE staff provides on-site activities in a dedicated space built within
the school's gymnasium. Remodeled in the summer of 1999, the Center
provides a safe and secure area for learning and enrichment. Currently,
over 100 families have children enrolled in the program. Students
need not be enrolled at Ulloa Elementary School to be accepted into
the program. In addition to English, members of our highly qualified
staff speak Chinese, Spanish, French, and Japanese.
Hours
The Center operates in conjunction with the school district's academic calendar,
but also provides activities for some holidays and most school break periods.
We are open on school days from 6:45 - 9:30 AM, and from 3:30 - 6:00 PM. Enrollment
and cost information can be obtained by visiting the Center or by calling the
GATE office at (415) 753-2966.
Summer Program
During the summer the Children's Center is open full time for arts,
crafts, cooking and sports activities. Additionally, GATE operates a separate
summer enrichment program at other facilities. Information regarding GATE's summer
